Happy Summer Solstice!

We hope you continue to grow with our holistic community of unique souls that want to learn more about nourishing the mind, body, and soul. As seasons change, so does the need to move our energy.

Did you know that the Summer Solstice is connected to our third energy center, Solar Plexus, Manipura? A way to nourish our Solar Plexus, Manipura, is to incorporate more yellow into your life. Whether that is wearing that color more often, incorporating yellow things into your environment or foods into your diet.

Foods: banana, pineapple, yellow zucchini, summer squash, oatmeal, granola, yellow lentils.

Herbs: chamomile, linden, dandelion lemongrass, lemon balm

Honorable mention: mint & fennel

Manipura comes from Sanskrit meaning “shining gem.” We’re gonna be some yellow shining gems TODAY!

Here are some things to keep in mind as you nourish this energy center throughout the summer. The next time you meditate or do a mindful breath consider incorporating the mudra or sound. As you’re journaling or doing some reflection, consider checking-in with any blockages or emotions that have been heavy on your mind or heart.

This energy center is where we hold our autonomy, how we define ourselves. Our ambition, willpower, warrior energy, but also digestion & immunity.

Mudra: middle finger to thumb with pinky, ring & pointer finger up.

Sound: Ram

Location & Signs: This chakra is located in the stomach area a few inches above the navel.

Blockage: A blocked Solar Plexus Chakra signifies a lack of control and confidence. We begin to doubt our worth, opinions or achievements.

Emotionally: self- esteem, confidence, self- respect, feelings of being inadequate (not enough), anger, resentment, problems with self worth, jealousy, envy, we get more defensive, arrogant, egotistical, or hyper critical.

As always, if you need any holistic guidance or community, reach out to our holistic collective.

Get Jiggy With It!

When we move our bodies, it is one of the ways we can release endorphins and help relieve stress. It allows us to take a break from everyday challenges and responsibilities. Whether you’re dancing, exercising, stretching, it guides our emotions through our bodies grounding us and bringing us balance.

Take a moment in between your day and try this sequence to get your energy flowing:

Stretching (3-5min)
Nature walking
Stretching (3-5min)
Dance

Solar Plexus Stretches:

Forward bend
Happy baby pose
Bridge pose
Circle crunches
Half Spinal twist
Bow Pose

We exude confidence in self and our abilities, motivation, and self-discipline to turn thoughts into action. We feel inner peace, calmness, and become flexible.
